Over the past few years, the size of families has been decreasing in some countries, with larger number of older people choosing to live in retirement communities instead of with their adult children. In my opinion, this choice is negative to both the family cost and family bond, but positive to the independence of young adults.

Chúng ta có thân bài như sau:

In terms of the disadvantages, the first evident one is the rising costs. It was common in the past that several generations lived index the’ same roof and this could save living expense. By contrast, when the older people live separately from their adult children more expense should be allocated to the retirement communities. Another concern is that this choice ends in the alienated, relationship between the young adults and the older parents. It is a common phenomenon that many young adults visit their older parents no more than once a week, and some of them even only paid a visit to those living in the older community once a month. Compared to meeting. with each other daily by living together, this living pattern deprives of face to face communication and care between parents and children, which can weaken family cohesion.

However, advantage also exists since this life pattern helps the younger generation to become more independent. When older parents live in the caring centers, young people who live alone have to take charge of household chores by themselves. Their life is quite different from that of those who live with their older parents, since they tend to rely on older parents in washing clothes, and picking up grandchildren back home.

retirement communities => the caring centers

>>>  Overall, when older family members live in the caring centers instead of with their children, more drawbacks can emerge,  but benefit can be expected. It is imperative to give the old sufficient care no matter where they live.
